totally. i've followed and trained in mma for the last ten years and all this sport has done is grown, especially since spike tv has aired the TUF series (season 3 begins thurs night)which has introduced the sport to a ton of people who had probably never heard of it before.mma was originally given a bad rap from ignorant people who nothing of the sport.they called it barbaric and inhumane. I think nowadays people are realizing that this is simply not true. in fact there have been over 4500 deaths in sanctioned boxing events and only 1 in the history of sanctioned mma.In my opinion mma requires alot more skill than boxing and its a heck of alot more exciting to watch. So yeah, give it a few more years and i think it will definately be more popular than boxing.

not really because there are very good boxers in the welterweight and middleweight levels... But there is a chance that UFC/Pride could beat a PPV on a heavyweight bout if both were on at the same night... heavyweights are horrible!!! the last great heavyweight was lennox lewis...

It has and will continue to surpass boxing in popularity but it will soon turn into boxing from corruption if it does make steps to control itself. i love Pride FC but have lost the flair of UFC when they turn ubur corporate.

No, probably not. Boxing is a sport with a long and somewhat noble tradition even if it is more dangerous and actually more brutal. MMA is just slow and ugly and even if it's more realistic, it's not very exciting. It's just glorified street brawling.
Now Thai boxing, that's an art. |
